Trinity Tween Meets a Need!
Janell Brinser, Trinity Tween and 5th grade student at Riverview Elementary, saw a need and decided to make a difference. Janell noticed that at recess, the disabilities students had very little to keep them entertained. After a class discussion about helping others at BOLD (class leaders Terri Lee, Tom Schulz, and Tina Ahrens) she decided to hold a sub sale and help her fellow students at school. After contacting Country Table to set up the sale, Janell brought in $250 through sale profits and donations. This allowed her to purchase various activities and games for the students, as well as a tether ball for the playground. Janell is a shining example of BOLD youth and illustrates what it means to “love your neighbor as yourself!” When asked how she felt to do this great deed, she replied, “I felt happy to do something for the people around me.” Janell’s advice to kids is to “stick your mind to it, and you can do anything.” Thank you to Janell for her outstanding project and for loving others at her school.
